As a unit of the Zambia Defence Forces, the Defence School Of Health Sciences (DSHS) exists to build the nation’s capacity to provide high-quality healthcare to defence personnel and their immediate families through rigorous training of in-service staff in nursing and clinical medicine.

As a part of the nation’s health superstructure, DSHS contributes to narrowing national healthcare-giver deficit by providing high-quality training to the general public in nursing, abridged nursing and clinical medicine.

In support of these objectives, DSHS is well-fitted with ultra-modern teaching, learning and study spaces; state-of-the-art teaching and learning equipment; a network of partner-hospitals supporting our programme with hands-on practice and; high-level logistical capacity to take the student through all levels of training.

To become a leading provider of healthcare training through rigorous training of students, agile health sector partnerships, modern infrastructure and equipment and; high-quality management of campus life and student logistics.
